Often, individuals and companies receive shipments in boxes, dispose of the used boxes, and use new boxes for their outgoing shipments. Individuals and companies have thought customers, business partners, friends and family members would look unfavorably upon a shipment in a used box. Also, a company can put its logo on the sides of new boxes.
But times are changing. Since 2009, amazon.com customers have submitted 33 million packaging-related comments, ratings and photographs (The New York Times). People have had enough of the huge waste of packaging materials !
Here is how you can help to reduce the waste. Go ahead and use that still-good box for your next shipment. Tell the recipient that you are doing your part to reduce waste by including one of our packaging-recycling cards in the box with your shipment. You might even want to sign the back of the card to encourage the recipient to do the same and get as much use as possible out of that still-good box.
